Answer both questions and submit on Canvas on Sunday at midnight.
1. What was hardest for me this week and how can I work on that?
2. You are a nurse working a 12-hour night shift on a busy labor and delivery unit. Your patient is laboring, and is "going natural" (not using any pain medication) and you have been at the bedside, without a break, for over 11 hours. Near the end of your shift, your charge nurse asks if you could stay over "for just four hours" because the unit is short 4 labor nurses. You agree. It is now 10:45 (15 minutes before you're supposed to FINALLY go home) and there is no one to replace you. You call your charge nurse, and she says there is no one to replace you and you have to stay. How would you handle this situation, keeping in mind the safety of your patient and yourself?
