MB Case Study Directions
This case study will be a group presentation worth 10 exam points. Please follow all directions for full points.
- Use data on the SVD Case Study to complete the BUBBLEHEB postpartum assessment document and client care sheet (CCS). Note that there may not be data for all areas on the assessment document or CCS.
- Address the following problems on the Case Study under the Nursing Diagnosis:
- Problem #1 (all groups). This will be developed in lecture before presentations begin. Expect to participate/contribute.
- Nursing Dx - as assigned (see below).
- Nursing Dx - your group's choice (choose from Problems 2-7) (you should develop three different Nursing Dx)
- On final page of CCS, address the problem assigned to your group listing 3-4 interventions and using evidence from scholarly sources for rationales. (Your sources can be your textbook, nurse's pocket guide, and other sources you may find from database searches in the library.)
- For the evaluation step: Decide as a group if your patient achieved her outcomes or not and complete the CCS accordingly. (HINT: You will develop more learning/get more practice applying the NP if you say no. And I may even consider giving an extra credit point if you do.)
- Prepare to present your case study (last two pages - the problem assigned to your group) to the class. Please prepare - make sure everyone has the completed CCS and you have worked out/rehearsed your presentation. Please limit your presentation to 10 minutes (ideally) to 15 minutes (max).
- One person from your group will upload your presentation into Canvas for the group's grade.
