WATCH
In this video, Brian Doyle talks about a scary experience that happened to him. Then he talks about his response to that experience. You can watch the whole video later if you want. Right now, just focus on the beginning of this video from 0-2:54. You can slow it down and turn on captions if you want. You can listen many times.
TASK
After you watch the video, you will need to write a paragraph about Brian's scary experience. Do NOT copy the captions.
- Type or write the story of what happened to Brian in 10-12 sentences.
- Use your own words to tell the story--no copying from the video.
- Write it like a paragraph, not like a list of sentences.
- When you finish, check your paper for good subjects and verbs, articles, gerunds and infinitives, and clauses. No Fragments!
- Then in a separate paragraph, write about your reaction to Brian's story and/or what you are thankful for.
