Welcome to Nursing 101!

Hello and welcome to the Highline College Nursing Program! I am so excited to be a part of your introduction to the profession of nursing! This will be a new learning experience for you all and me as well, as this is my first quarter as a Highline College Nursing Instructor.  I am really looking forward to working with you as you embark on your  Nursing journey.

We will use this Canvas Course on a regular basis as part of the class, in addition to the textbook resources of Davis Advantage, Davis Edge, and Dosage Calc 360. Please review the contents of the Canvas modules, as they are organized by week throughout the quarter. Begin with the "Start Here" module, and remember to refer to it regularly as it contains several important pieces of information.

Please set your personal Canvas notifications appropriately. Announcements may be made that impact an upcoming class or assignment and students are responsible for obtaining the information when posted. I would suggest daily notifications for most Canvas activity. Please utilize the messaging/email function within Canvas for best communication with instructors, or at minimum use your Highline College email address. Emails sent from outside personal addresses are generally not delivered or end up in our junk folders due to security settings by the college.

It is my goal to provide you with a thoughtful, yet challenging introduction to our Nursing program and prepare you for success in future quarters, and ultimately success and satisfaction in your future career as an RN or beyond! Here's to a great start!   Sandy
