PowerPoint Presentation with Paraphrasing Practice and How to Cite in Presentations

This page is unpublished because it's an optional instructor resource. Note: Although the examples are in MLA style, if you’re using APA style, the concepts stay the same. The only thing that changes is the style of the citations.

This PowerPoint presentation (Paraphrasing, Quoting & Summarizing Links to an external site.) includes the following sections:

  • Paraphrasing practice: Shows original text and two paraphrasing options, one of which is correct and one which is plagiarism. This is good practice for students to recognize plagiarism.
  • Citing images in presentations practice: Shows two images with citations and the same images without. Students must determine which shows correct citations and which is plagiarism.
  • Examples of how to cite in presentations: Shows two examples
    • including a web address for the source on the slide itself
    • putting a Works Cited slide at the end of the presentation
