Feedback on Assignments

One way to use this orientation is to read the information here. Another way is to have your Canvas open in two places. Open this orientation in one place and have your Highline Canvas account open in another place. (For example, you might make two tabs on different monitors. You can do this at any computer lab on campus. Or you might open your Canvas account on a computer, and open the orientation on a tablet or phone.) If you have both this orientation and your Canvas account open, you can try the steps while looking at the instructions.

Your instructor can leave you feedback on how you are doing on an assignment. They can score a rubric, make comments on the assignment, or leave you feedback on the side of the page (or all of the above). The feedback will tell you what you did well, what you can do to improve on this assignment, and what to work on for next time. You should always make sure to read the feedback from your instructor.

Feedback screen from an assignment. The feedback reads "The connection to the prompt is clear. As a reader, I am able to see how you used that evidence to support your claim."

You can get to the feedback from a few different places. On the course dashboard, you can click on the "recent feedback" tab. You can select the assignment from the modules page. Or you can select the "Grades" page and click on the assignment you want to review.

Grades screen with arrow pointing to the assignment link to get feedback and the comments icon to see instructor feedback.
