Clearing Your Browser Cache

Your browser is the program you use to access the Internet, such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

It's a good idea to clear your browser's "cache" or history often - at least once a month, though there's no harm in doing it more frequently. The reason why we do this is to get rid of "cookies Links to an external site." or other temporary files from our computers that can interfere with the functioning of Canvas or other programs. Try doing this before you ask for help with a technical problem. If this doesn't work then contact Help Desk (206-592-4357) or helpdesk@higline.edu

This is how to clear your cache in Google Chrome. Click on Ctrl+H, or in the top right of your screen, click on the three vertical dots:

In the dropdown menu that appears, click on History (show screenshot).

On the left, click on Clear Browsing Data:

These are the recommended Basic settings. Click on Clear data to complete the process:

The process is very similar in the other browsers.
