Asking for Help
Everyone needs to ask for help with computer issues sometimes. Here are some tips for when you need to do this:
- Provide details on what isn't working. Include a link to the course, page, or assignment if applicable. Screenshots are helpful too. This minimizes how many follow-up questions the tech support person needs to ask you, allowing them to fix the problem faster.
- Be patient and polite. Understand that the tech support person you are working with may have many cases on their hands. They may also need some time to figure out what's causing your problem if it's something they haven't seen before.
- When the problem has been fixed, or if it goes away on its own, let tech support know so they can close your case and move on to helping others.
