Update Your Canvas Profile Picture & Notifications

1. Update your profile information

• Add a picture of yourself. You will be participating in online discussions forums in the course and having a picture along with the post helps build a feeling of community. It will also help me learn your name more quickly.
• Change the time zone to: Pacific Time (U.S. and Canada)
• Add an addition email or phone number to receive text notifications from canvas on your phone.
• Do NOT change the language. Use Canvas in English!

2. Personalize your notifications

You will receive text or email notifications about Canvas activities, for example when your teacher grades an assignment or when another student replies to your discussion comment. You can choose how often you receive notifications for each activity, but it's a good idea to make sure you have a check mark next to these three notifications: Announcements, Added to Conversation, Conversation Message, Due Date and Grading. And you can add your phone number so you get notifications directly on your phone  That means you will get these notifications right away.
