Activity: Concept Map - Pharmacology
In groups, draw a concept map for an assigned drug. Include the following headings:
- Drug Name,
- therapeutic class,
- pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution, metabolism/excretion, half-life),
- indications (include routes),
- contraindications,
- side effects,
- action,
- Nursing Diagnosis (real or potential),
- Interventions,
- Outcomes
After drawing the map, link concepts together to formulate a picture of why the drug is used and how it affects the person.
Then come up with one question related to your assigned drug. (NCLEX-style, may be multiple choice or select all that apply).
