Annotated Bibliographies in APA Style
Sometimes, instructors ask for an annotated bibliography, but what is that? An annotated bibliography is a bibliography (References page in APA language) with a summary or evaluation of each source. So besides the bibliographic citation we normally include for each source, we also write a short paragraph that summarizes and/or evaluates the source. We might also include some reflection in our annotated bibliography, which could include how we plan to use the source in our paper.
Instructors may have their own instructions about what should be included in an annotated bibliography, but below are some resources that can help us become more familiar with annotated bibliographies and how to write them.
