Drop and Swap Classes

This topic will give you a basic understanding of how to adjust your classes using the ctcLink Mobile Website or the ctcLink Mobile Application. At the end of this topic, you will be able to:

- Drop classes
- Swap a class for another class

Drop Classes

Attention: Before dropping classes it is important to understand the impacts this may have on your program completion and funding. For example, if you are on Financial Aid, dropping a class may result in changes to awards, or requirements to return already awarded funding in a term, make sure to speak with your Financial Aid or funding advisor prior to dropping.

Select Enrollment in your left menu and select the Drop Classes link. This will open the Drop Classes page

Verify the term you are dropping at the top left of the page. Select the classes to drop by clicking the checkbox at the right end of the row for that class. Then select the Drop button on the top right of the page.

A confirmation box will display, select Drop to proceed or select Cancel to return to the drop page without processing the drop.

After pressing the Drop button, the Drop Results box will appear showing the Drop as successful or with errors, if there are errors read the message carefully. Click OK to return to the Drop Classes page

Swap Classes

You can also swap classes for another class. You may do this to change sections of a class (time, days, instructor, etc.). You can also swap classes with a completely different class if you need.

Select Enrollment in your left menu and select the Swap Classes link. This will open the Swap Classes page

Verify the term you are swapping at the top left of the page. Select the classes to drop by clicking the Swap This Class button to open options for selecting the new class

If you do not have a class saved in your shopping cart or planner, use the With Class from Search option this will allow you to go to the Class Search to find a new section or class.

The Class Search page will display, use the filters to find a new class and click the Swap button for the class from your Class Search results

The Enrollment options box will display to allow you to enter a Permission Number (only when needed) and select the checkbox for Waitlist if Full (optional) once complete, click Save.

Please Note: If you are Swapping a enrolled class for a waitlisted class, you will remain in the currently enrolled class until a space opens and you are able to be enrolled in the waitlisted section. If you do not wish to remain in your current class and no open sections of a new class are available you can drop the currently enrolled class using Drop Classes and then enroll in a waitlisted class using the Add classes from the Shopping Cart. This will remove the currently enrolled class from your schedule and place you on the waitlist for a new class.

A Swap Confirmation page will show the class you are dropping and the class being added. If this information is correct select Confirm, or select cancel to return to the swap page.

A Enrollment confirmation message will appear showing your Enrollment status

You will return to Swap Classes page where you can make other swaps or navigate as needed to other places.

Please Note: If you swapped for a Waitlisted class the Swapped Classes page will still show your enrollment in the class you just swapped. This will show until a space opens in the waitlisted class and your enrollment request has been processed. If you would like to be removed from the waitlist for that class and remain in your current section, go to Drop Classes and Drop the waitlisted section.
