Mics and Cameras in Classrooms

In most classrooms, you'll find one of two systems for recording audio and video. (Buildings 26 and 29 have slightly different systems.) If the room you're teaching in doesn't have one of these systems, you can use a laptop cam or webcam and a wireless mic to record sessions or use Zoom. (Learn more here.)

Ceiling Mounted Webcam

These rooms have a ceiling mounted webcam. It'll pick up audio in the front part of the room, and generally records the whiteboard between the podium and the projector screen.

Ceiling Mounted Webcam and Wireless Microphone

A number of classrooms have upgraded wireless microphones and in-room amplification, starting Winter Quarter 2022. The new systems deliver high-quality audio for Zoom in the class, and make it easier for students to hear you when you are masked.
