Google Drive Integration

Every Highline employee has access to Google Drive using your Highline login. Canvas can integrate with your Google Drive in several different ways to make it easier to manage your courses and enhance what students can do.

If you teach multiple sections of the same course, Drive is a great way to have one document show up in all those sections. Keep the document in Google Drive, and do all the edits and updates there. Then, instead of linking to a Page in Canvas, link to the document in Google Drive. When you make changes, it automatically appears in each course.

What else can Google Drive do?

Using the Google Drive integration links your courses to your Google Drive. There are several great uses for this integration, including:

  • Easily add files to your course
  • Have a single source for documents used across multiple courses (e.g. a syllabus for multiple sections of the same course)
  • Create documents and other Google Apps (Docs, Slides, and (spread)Sheets) that students can collaborate to complete, and
  • Create a cloud assignment, where each student response goes into your GDrive folder.

Using Google Drive

Finding to your Highline Google Drive

  1. Go to https://drive.highline.edu.
  2. Log out of any current Google accounts you are in. (Pro tip: Just use a different browser for each Google Drive account. Chrome is particularly finicky about switching between accounts).
  3. Log in with your Highline email (include the @highine.edu part at the end) and password.
