Sample announcement to student about using Panopto webcast
Initial Announcement or Message
Here is a sample announcement or message that you can customize and send to students to help them prepare for your Zoom meeting:
Hi Everyone,
We're going to meet online at our usual class day and time: <insert day and time> using an via Panopto webcast.
To join, at our class time, go to our Canvas course and click on Panopto Recordings in the left navigation menu. Once I start the live webcast, you will see a link to the session with a note near it that says that the session is happening live.
Once you're in the live webcast, you'll have a discussion box where you can type your questions and comments. Those will pop up on my screen.
Let me know if you're having trouble getting into the live Panopto webcast. We'll figure it out together.
All recordings will be available after the class session ends. In our Canvas course, click on "Panopto Recordings" to see all of our recorded class sessions. Everyone's questions and comments will be available in the recording. Clicking on a question will take to that location in the recording. These recordings will only be available to the members of this class, and I ask that everyone be respectful and not allow others to view the recordings. At the end of the course, the recordings will be deleted.
I will see you on <insert day and time> (via Panopto webcast)!
Follow-Up Announcement or Message
It is a good idea to send your students a follow-up announcement or message the day before or the day of the class meeting. Here is a sample follow-up that you can customize and send to students to help them prepare:
