How this training works
At the end of this training, you'll have a redesigned course that uses open educational resources.
The modules in this training walk you through a course redesign process. At every step, you'll have a chance to share what you're working on and get feedback. I'll reply to your posts by the next business day, and I hope that everyone in the training will participate in discussions as their time permits.
As I said, this is a course redesign process - just one way of doing things. If you read my suggestions and decide to work in a different way, that's great - please feel free to share the process that works for you. Whether or not you use my suggestions, if you prefer not to post your work on the discussion boards, that's fine too. The only requirement of the training is that you redesign your course using open educational resources.
While this course is laid out linearly, you don't necessarily need to approach it that way. You might prefer to read/watch all the content before you start your redesign. Use it in a way that works for you.
Time Commitment
This training is 100% self-paced and asynchronous.
The amount of time it will take you to redesign a course using open educational resources depends on many variables. As a rough estimate, plan to set aside 10-12 hours over the next four weeks to work on your course.
Getting Help
In this training we're all mixed together from different colleges. But you have access to help from your own institution - librarians, instructional designers, IT support, accessibility services, and more.
If you need local help and aren't sure who to talk to, let me know and I'll try to connect you with the right person.
