How to create a new course

To create a new course description, you'll follow a 4 step process:

  • Get Started
  • "Import" the previous course information
  • Launch the revisions
  • Send the proposal to the next step

Get started

  1. Once you've logged in to Curriculog, click on "New Proposal" in the top left corner of the Curriculog screen.

  3. Click on the blue check mark on the far right of the appropriate Course Revision:
    • 2023-24 ABE New Course - for ABE/ESL courses
    • 2023-24 CE New Course - for Continuing Ed courses
    • 2023-24 New Course - for all other courses

  4. The left side of the screen will now show the course description form. The right side of the screen shows the approval process for that course.

Need to take a break? If you need to stop before you finish the whole form, click the Save All Changes button at the bottom of the screen. Then come back later and edit the proposal.

A word about course outcomes

Be aware that even if are only changing one thing, the student learning outcomes will go through an approval step. If you have not updated these recently, contact Bob Scribner (rscribner@highline.edu) ahead of time to review your outcomes.

Launch the proposal

Don't quit yet! There's one more step.

  1. "Start Proposal" the proposal process by clicking on the button in the top of the course description window.

  2. When the "Launch Proposal" screen comes up, click on the Launch Proposal button. This officially starts the course through the approval process.
  3. You'll know it's complete when you see the message that "The proposal has moved on" in the top right corner of the screen.
This proposal has moved on. This proposal has moved on in the workflow.
