When you look for a job, you will want to pay attention to how much the job pays.  Does it pay per hour?  Does it pay a salary?  How much does it pay?

You can compare the pay.  When you compare numbers, you use the phrases more than and less than.

Example:

Nurse

General Hospital City Hospital
$33,500 $34,000

City Hospital pays more than General Hospital.
General Hospital pays less than City Hospital.

Read:

You can use multiplication and division to calculate how much money you will earn each week or month.

If the salary is $33,500 a year, you divide 33,500 by 12.  (There are 12 months in a year.)

33,500 / 12 = 2,769.67
You will earn $2,769.67 each month.

If you make $15 an hour and work 40 hours a week, you multiply 15 by 40.  (A full-time job is 40 hours a week.)

15 x 40 = 600
You will earn $600 a week.
