Plagiarism: Did You Know?
Did you realize that all of the following are considered plagiarism or academic dishonesty?
- Accidental plagiarism or just forgetting to cite our sources.
- Purchasing papers or asking someone else to write them for us.
- Turning in the same paper for two different classes, even if they're in different quarters or at different colleges.
- Digitally manipulating a photo we took of our painting or drawing before submitting it.
There are some things we can do to improve our writing that are not called plagiarism or academic dishonesty.
- Work with a Writing Center or Public Speaking Center consultant to improve our writing or bibliography.
- Get research or citation assistance from a librarian.
- Get feedback from our instructor or through peer-reviews in our class so we can revise.
