Mini 9 & 10: Zone of Development
- Due Jun 13, 2016 by 11:59pm
- Points 20
Choose one of the age ranges we have been learning about this quarter: infant (0-2), preschool (2-5), middle childhood (5-12) or adolescents (12-18) to focus for this combined Mini Assignment. Both Mini 9 and 10. There will not be a module next week as you work to synthesize what you have learned into the final assignments.
After you have chosen the age range you wish to focus, create a zone of proximal development for children in this age range. This is a list of the skills that typically developing children can do - skills that are not too hard, nor too easy for the typically developing child, in all domains: cognitive, social emotional, physical, and language.
- Use the textbook, Virtual Child, Study Circles, and/or DEL Early Learning Guidelines as resources during this assignment.
- Present your finding using some type of visual: concept map Links to an external site., sequence chain Links to an external site., Prezi. Links to an external site. Your choice.
- Visual should represent the major events happenings in that domain for the age range you chose. 7-10 skills/milestones for each domain required.
- Utilize child development terms appropriately.
