Making connections - Babies The Movie

We have spent the last five weeks investigating the child developmental domains: cognitive, physical, language and social emotional. In the process we have deepened our understanding the domain milestones for infants, preschoolers, school age children and adults. 

As we wrap up the quarter, let's start connecting some of the dots. 

Watch the film, Babies, linked below. It is also available on YouTube for a small cost.  Choose one of the four children to focus on for this module. Take notes on the developmental milestones the child you observe accomplished. Review what else you have learned about the concept in the text and course modules. You will be asked to share these connections and reflections in this week's discussion board and survey.

As as you watch the film, reflect back on your initial thoughts regarding nature vs nurture and development. Are the children in the film developing in the same ways, as evidence for the nature aspect or are they growing in different ways due to their nature? What key terms have you learned that help you better understand the development you observe happening with the child you chose from the film?
