Teaching the Best Practices Way!
Teaching the Best Practices Way!
Best Practices is a term that is used to describe research based instructional strategies that have been proven effective in today's classrooms, with today's types of learners. As consumers of information, important to keep in mind that a particular practice that has worked for someone within a given set of variables may or may not yield the same results across educational environments.
Choosing teaching strategies that have been proven effective with the types of learners that are in today's schools is the expectation of today's teachers.
Method's That Matter (Links to an external site.), by Daniels & Bizar has identified seven instructional strategies that work!
- Integrative Units
- Small Group Activities
- Representing-to-Learn
- Classroom Workshops
- Authentic Experiences
- Reflective Assessment
Opportunities to learn more about these strategies will come in future modules.
Teachers that engage their learners with these instructional strategies and create learning communities that haveutilize technology and value student choice, responsibility, and expression will provide learning environments that positively impact the achievement gap. More on these in future modules too!
