Your textbook is an excellent source of information, and learning, but there are many resources on the internet to expand your knowledge. Creating an environment that respects the culture of children is critical to reaching children, and being able to teach them where they are.
Remember, relationship precedes learning. Developing a relationship with children with a deep understanding of their family unit, and culture is an important element of becoming an intentional teacher focused on the needs of children.
Throughout the course I will provide supplemental materials that will help you to develop your skills, as well as coming up with ideas for your Burning Questions project. Look for these sections, as they will help you in Discussions, Assignments, and choosing your Question.
