Burning Issue Question

Burning Issue Question

In an introduction to child development course such as this, there are many concepts we lightly touch upon that many students wish they had a chance to learn more about.

The BURNING ISSUE assignment is created to give you that opportunity.

  • Step One:  Identify a topic, connected to child development, that you would like to expand on and illustrate for your classmates. Post your topic idea to the Burning Issues Topic discussion forum.
  • Ex : The effects of excessive television watching on children.
  • Step Two: Decide on an essential question that you would like to ask connected to your topic.
  • Ex : What are the effects of My Little Pony Cartoons on the social development of toddlers.

I will provide some feedback regarding your question, which usually comes in the form of asking questions about your question. Students often times think of an essential question that is too large for this assignment. My feedback will ask you to rethink about the question you really want to answer with your burning issue poster.

Check out the examples below to get an idea of what a final project can look like. Show your creativity.

You can use online design sites like www.canva.com, Links to an external site. and other free sites, or create your own poster using your scrapbooking, or artistic style.

NOTE : No posters displaying only handwriting will be accepted. You are expected to create something that could be hung in a gallery, or in the school commons.
