Using Announcements
Announcements allow you to communicate with your students about course activities and post interesting course-related topics. Once you create an announcement, Canvas notifies the student by email, text, or phone notification, based on their notification preferences. (Make sure your students have enabled Announcements in their Notifications.)
Announcements can also be scheduled to post at a future time, and you can enable students to reply to the announcement so other students will see the conversation.
Why would you use Announcements?
- To remind students about class activities
- To point students to resources
- To leave a message for the entire class, when a reply isn't expected
- To celebrate student success and important events
