Adding a "Start Here" Module

The "Start Here" module helps students easily find the first things they should do as part of an online course. For hybrid classes, this module helps convey that online activities in the class are as important as the face-to-face.

In creating this module, think about what happens on the first day of a face-to-face class. The "Start Here" module should provide students with:

• The syllabus and course overview
• A tour of the course site and introduction to the course
• Your preferred contact methods, and your response time policy
• An introduction to you
• Information about the first deadlines for the class
• Canvas how-to information to help students meet those deadlines
