Assignments - The PLAID Criteria
PLAID (Peer-Led Analysis of Instructional Design) provides guidelines to ensure strong Canvas courses. This module will address the following PLAID criteria:
Content and Outcomes
- Learning outcomes and course activities are aligned
- Course grading structure is clear (e.g. number and value of assignments, quizzes, etc.)
- Individual assignment rubric/grading criteria articulate instructor's expectations
- Course assignments and quizzes include instructions and requirements for submitting materials.
Communication and Interaction
- Course includes formative assessments periodically throughout the quarter.
- All students receive regular, timely feedback about their performance
- Feedback provided is substantive: specific, measurable, attainable, results-oriented, and time-bound.
For more information on the PLAID Rubric, and how it works, see the PLAID page on the Instructional Design website.
