Build - The PLAID Criteria
PLAID (Peer-Led Analysis of Instructional Design) provides guidelines for strong Canvas courses. This module will address the following PLAID criteria:
Course Design
- The course is easy to navigate. Students are able to figure out without difficulty where they need to go.
Content and Outcomes
- Learning outcomes are clearly stated, and focus on what the student/learner will be able to do.
- Learning outcomes and course activities are aligned
- Course content is presented using a variety of media resources such as video and audio. (Online, hybrid)
Communication and Interaction
- Course organization clearly identifies how the student can get started and proceed through the course.
- Instructor provides ground rules for interaction in the course.
- Instructor describes best contact methods and expected response time.
- Instructor clearly delineates the role the online environment will play in the total course.
- Course includes regular opportunities for interaction and communication between students and instructor.
- Course includes regular opportunities for interaction and communication among students.
