Embedding Content With the Rich Content Editor

There are two different ways to incorporate materials into Pages and other tools that use the Rich Content Editor. The benefit of linking or embedding materials in the Rich Content Editor is that you can provide context or further instruction to your students about what to do with the linked resources. 

Embedding media means that the video, Slideshare presentation, or other resource is incorporated in the page, instead of opening in a new window or tab of the browser. Usually, a small image of the item will also be displayed in the page. You've already seen several examples of this, with Canvas Guides and videos, in this course.

Some resources that can be embedded in a Canvas page include:

Embedding works well for presenting one or two items with context, for instance your instructions or prompts. It doesn't work as well with long lists of resources, as the page becomes too long.
