When will my courses be available?

Currently your Courses menu shows this Highline Canvas User Guide (and Orientation) and the Test Course you've been working with. Once you complete this Orientation, you will be enrolled as a teacher in any courses you are scheduled to teach.

Over time, you may collect some other kinds of courses. Canvas at Highline can be used for many purposes, some of which are described later in this module.

• Test courses - your spaces to try new things and build new courses
• Committee and project sites
• Shared department resources (e.g. template courses, student orientations, etc.)

Quarterly Course Schedule

At Highline, courses are created based on the class schedule. You will automatically be added to those that you are scheduled to teach.

Courses are created three to five days after student registration begins for the quarter in question. Roughly, that means:

• Summer and Fall Quarter courses appear in mid-May
• Winter Quarter courses appear in early November
• Spring Quarter courses appear in mid-February

If you'd like to begin building a course before it shows up in your course list, the best option is to request a test course. You can then copy the materials over to the course that students will enroll in once it has been added to your list.
