How to capture a screenshot
For many of the tasks in the orientation course, you will need to take and submit screenshots. If you are not familiar with how to do that, please read below.
How to Capture a Screenshot with Windows
The easiest option for this is the Snipping Tool that's built in to Windows.
- Press the Windows Logo + Shift + S, all at the same time. The Snipping Tool will appear on your screen. (Alternatively, click Start, then search for Snipping Tool.)
- Choose either Window Snip
or Rectangle Snip
.
- If you choose Window Snip, click on the window you want to take a screenshot of. If you choose Rectangle Snip, drag to highlight the area to screenshot. The image will appear in the Snipping Tool window.
- Now, decide how you want to share the screenshot.
- You can paste it into a Word document by switching to the document, and choosing Paste from the Edit menu (Control + P).
- You can save just the image by clicking on it in the Snipping tool, and selecting Save.
